Barack Obama has put himself in a tough spot with his quote on the recent arrest of professor Gates when he said in a recent news conference that the Cambridge police department acted "stupidly". I watched the conferece and the second I heard him say that, I knew that a problem would arise and the whole situation would be blown out of proportion. Sure enough The media had a field day with that one, and of course, totally dropped the mundane issue of health care to persue this more interesting topic. The way he answered that question shows that the young president is still learning the delicate art of polotics. It was really strange that he even chose to answer that question in the first place but his emotions got the better of him that day, as I am sure they would. They say hindsight is 20/20, so maybe next time, it will be better to just say 'no comment'
